With the Hot Rod drag week currently going on there are some car enthusiasts, who either don't have the time or other circumstances prevent them from participating in it and get a group of guys together and have their own. Nathan Shaw of One Guys Garage out of Minnesota, puts on one of his own that travels 3 states to 3 different tracks. It's a great family oriented time as many bring their children and treat it as a little weekend getaway with food, awards and just plain fun. The competition is strong between the racers but without all the pressures of a big national event. There are some similarities with the Hot Rod event such as different classes, overall best averaged times and options of towing a trailer behind the car. Randy Belehar entered his beautiful '68 Pontiac Firebird that is powered by a Pontiac 511ci with CV1 heads on E85 fuel and a Nitrous Outlet Direct Port system with a 300+ shot and .031 nitrous jets. A Turbo 400 with gear vendors overdrive helps with the highway speeds to the Dana 60 with 4.10 gears. Randy ran a nice [email protected] before heading out to the next track.
