Forest Management for Spruce Budworm on Private Land in NE Minnesota

The Natural Resources Conservation Service in Minnesota has worked with landowner Jordan Blessing on his 19 acres of forested land near the North Shore of Lakes Superior in NE Minnesota. A spruce budworm infestation along the North Shore has resulted in large numbers of dead and dying spruce and balsam trees. These trees were removed to reduce fire hazard, enhance recreational opportunities, and improve wildlife habitat on their land. Videography by Dan Balluff.
