Letzter Tag Vogelfluglinie/Last Day Vogelflugline Railway Journey | Lübeck Hbf - Roedby Faerge

German: Dieses Video wurde am letzten Betriebstag der Vogelfluglinie-Bahnstrecke aufgenommen. Dies bedeutet, die Züge fahren in Zukunft nicht mehr auf die Fähre nach Rødbyhavn sondern fahren über die Strecke Flensburg und Odense bis der geplante Fehmarnbelttunnel fertig gestellt ist. Momentan gibt es keine Pläne, dass nach Tunnelfertigstellung Züge in Bahnhöfen wie Puttgarden halten werden. Dies steht sehr in der Kritik, da die Bewohner von Puttgarden keinen regelmäβigen Bahnverkehr mehr haben werden (nur sehr vereinzelnt fährt noch ein Regionalzug Puttgarden an) und es wird auch wahrscheinlich Arbeitsplatzverluste geben, wenn auch die Fähre zwischen Puttgarten und Rødbyhavn eingestellt wird.

English: This video shows the last day of the Eurocity train that travels from Hamburg to Copenhagen using the Vogelflugline which also goes on a car ferry that connects the Island of Fehmarn (Puttgarden) to Rødbyhavn in Denmark. This route has been admired by many train enthusiasts as it is something very special seeing a train go on a car ferry. There are hardly any of these types of routes left. In future there will still be a Eurocity train from Hamburg to Copenhagen but it will run via Flensburg and Odense to Copenhagen. When the tunnel is finished between Puttgarden and Rødby (estimated to be 2028) the train will technically use the Vogelfluglinie but not use the ferry and it is also not planned that the train stops at stations like Puttgarden. This plan has come under a lot of criticism as Puttgarden will hardly have any train services serving it anymore (roughly once every 4 to 5 hours a regional train) and generally no fast long distance train on the Island of Fehmarn. Also there are worries of job losses when also the car ferry service stops when the new tunnel is finished as well as environmental concerns. To match this sad occasion the weather was awful and at some points footage did not turn out so well so I do apologise for this. Anyway I hope you enjoy this train journey from Lübeck main station to Roedby Faerge station.
