This lift replaced two parallel double chairs, both of the same name Shuksan Arm, one a 1968 Murray-Latta double, and the other a 1974 Riblet center-pole double. Chair 5 was installed in 2002, the first of four Doppelmayr CTEC quad chairs to be installed at Mt. Baker. This lift is also the third-steepest lift in Washington, after Tye Mill and 7th Heaven at Stevens Pass.
