Join Dr. Shirley D’Sa to learn more about her involvement in recent research that uses wearable technology to measure the experience of living with WM. We’ll discuss the variables involved in the measurement of quality of life, such as sleep quality, pain levels, and fatigue levels; and we’ll hear the conclusions drawn as a result of this research. Dr. D’Sa will also shed light on the relationships among anemia, fatigue, iron, and energy levels relevant to WM patients.

Bio: Professor Shirley D'Sa, MD, FRCP, FRCPath, is a Consultant Haematologist and Clinical Lead for the UCLH Centre for Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM) and Associated Disorders at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Professor of Haematology at the UCL Cancer Institute, University College London. She is also the haematological lead in the Joint Neurohaematology Service at the National Hospital for Neurology with Prof. Michael Lunn at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London, the largest dedicated centre for WM in Europe.These clinics provide national inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, clinical advisory and treatment services at UCLH as well as spearheading translational research.

Dr. D’Sa is wholly passionate about the patient voice and how understanding the experience of living with WM should impact its treatment in the medical arena.
