My Feet Keep Dancing - Chic (1979) - bass

Trying to assimilate some more of Bernard's "chucking" technique ... As you try to imitate it, it appears to be incredibly refined, very subtle, full of nuance. Never knew you could let a bass sound like this. Very hard to play the "chucking" parts with a steady timing and sound...

Recorded with bass straight into small mixing console to add some light EQ, than into pc.
NO OTHER EFFECTS OR PROCESSING WHATSEVER.
I like to stress the point that the sound rightfully comes from 1. the bass 2. the fingers of the person playing it. Of course, on the recording the bass was mixed down and EQ'd, compressed, limited etc. as usually is the case on studio recordings, but the point I want to illustrate in my videos is that the solid basic material can be achieved by the way you play the strings, tuning yourself in to 1. the feel of the original 2. the way your bass responds to your touch
