How to Change a driveshaft on a Dapol Class 121 for 4 quid. NO SKILLS REQ'D!

In this video I show you how to replace a driveshaft on a Dapol Class 121, it's a simple technique requiring patience, but no skills. All in it costs 4 quid for the driveshaft, and needs no special tools.

I'm happy to get this up and running again, it's my first ever loco and my second favourite and she is key for the branch line, so she has plenty of work to do!

As it turns out this is a very common problem and I hope further iterations of this model will have the driveshaft mechanism fixed, in two ways, one the driveshafts will be splined and the knobs at the end more securely positioned and also the driveshaft not being located in such a way that a soldering iron is potentially going to be required. Other locos have much easier configurations to allow access.
