How to Make a Reusable Cloth Coffee Filter for Pourover Coffee

Описание к видео How to Make a Reusable Cloth Coffee Filter for Pourover Coffee

Making your own cloth coffee filters for pourover coffee is an easy and cheap way to introduce sustainability into your coffee routine. In this tutorial, I make a reusable cotton filter for a Hario V60 with 1-2 cup brew capacity. The french seams on these filters prevents fabric lint from seams and fraying edges from contaminating your coffee, too!

Supplies needed:
- scraps of unbleached cotton muslin
- cotton thread
- scissors
- marking tools (pencils, chalk), paper, ruler, measuring tape
- sewing machine OR serger OR hand sewing tools (needle, etc)

How to clean and maintain cloth coffee filters:
- discard as many coffee grinds from the filter as you can after brewing your coffee
- thoroughly rinse the filter under running water
- store the filter in a jar of cold water in the refrigerator
- periodically submerge the filter in boiling water to clean it
