Forest Stand Development - The 8-Stage Model

The four-stage model of forest development is widely used, but it has some shortcomings. As an alternative Jerry Franklin (2002, https://www.sciencedirect.com/science...) proposed an 8-stage model of natural stand development aimed at forest ecosystems with long-lived species.
