Can babies get pimples?!

I’m sure many of you saw this video and were completely shocked to see a baby with a pimple 🤯 but baby acne is more common than you might think. However, this baby is 6 months, which is older than the typical baby acne age, so I wonder if something else is going on.

I suspect this could be a little folliculitis or a small pustular infection, something we can see in babies 👶 a hydrocolloid patch isn’t actually a bad idea — not only will it help for the baby to not scratch the area, but it will absorb all contents of the bump ✅

Now, as I mentioned, if more and more folliculitis bumps appear a gentle wash will help! But here are some bumps or skin reactions on babies that you should look out for and seek a derm’s help for:

multiple blisters
multiple pustules
under the skin bumps
lumps/nodules that are larger than 2cm or growing quickly
bumps associated with fevers
unexplained bruises or red spots (petechiae)
