Pimple Emergency Part 2

Описание к видео Pimple Emergency Part 2

It can be so easy to run to your local CVS/Walgreens and pick up a spot treatment or a pimple patch, but that will only manage the pimple for a short time frame. The truth is your skincare routine should target preventing pimples instead of just treating them as they come up! ✔️

Acne can be treated and prevented, so here are a some things to keep in mind when dealing with it 👇

1️⃣ Be patient! It might feel tempting to over treat with a harsh topical, but it will only end up leading to a compromised skin barrier and irritation, which can potentially worsen acne.
A retinoid, like adapalene, should be the basis of a topical anti-acne regimen. This will both treat and prevent acne.

2️⃣ You can supplement your acne routine with at least one other active, like salicylic acid or azelaic acid. You may also consider a gentle benzoyl peroxide wash (4-5%).

3️⃣ Continue to wear a moisturizer and sunscreen.

4️⃣ Make sure you are cleansing well enough to remove all your makeup and sunscreen.
Make sure you are avoiding products containing pore-clogging ingredients (there are ingredient checkers online).

5️⃣ Consider avoiding dairy (especially low fat dairy) and processed sugar

6️⃣ Have a low threshold to see a derm to make sure you are on the right track. Acne can look like other conditions as well.
