We check out the Makita sub-compact reciprocating saw on their 18v lxt platform. Their sub compact tools in the lxt platform comes in all black versus their standard makita teal. Sub-compact tools can be used with any 18v lxt battery allowing the tools to be small, compact, light, and powerful without leaving the LXT battery line up. No need to switch over to a 12v or lower battery voltage platform.

Great saw for small and light jobs. Easily the tool used for most light duty jobs that are in tight spaces and/or overhead. Does not perform great on the track, mainly due to it's short stroke length, but some small jobs may need size and fit over power.
