Project Justice (Dreamcast) Gameplay

My apologies for the sound clipping issues. I need to lower the input volume a lot more when recording footage from the Dreamcast's VGA box. I didn't realize how loud the sound was when recording.

Project Justice is the third game in the Rival Schools series, and is about to get a re-release by Capcom in Capcom Fighting Collection 2 along with Powerstone, Plasma Blade, Capcom vs SNK and more.

I probably haven't played this game in around 5 years or so, so forgive my sloppy playing here. I played the original Rival Schools to death, and it's tied with Soul Blade as my favorite PS1 fighting game. This Dreamcast sequel has always been pricey to pick up, I managed to find it for $13 used at my local Game Crazy back in the day when it was already $60 online at the time. I'm happy to see it get a re-release so more people can enjoy the high-strung action of the Rival Schools series.

Rival schools it pretty much the epitome of every amazing thing Capcom was doing in 2D fighting games in the late 90's/early 2000's, except successfully brought into a 3D fighter in a much better way than Street Fighter EX did. Honestly, this is my favorite 3D fighter from Capcom ever, well more so the original, because I put a ton of more time into it. Really, the only thing that Project Justice is missing from the original, outside of the Japanese version's story mode where you could create your own character and take them on a story mode that was cut out of Rival Schools for it's NTSC release, is the absurdly fun mini-games.

When it comes to 3D fighting action with 2D fighting game mechanics, Rival Schools has everything except a full-on tag mode. Burning vigor super attacks, team-up maneuvers, air juggles, crazy combos, and super intense, hectic gameplay, this game really is a blast to play. It really is, in my opinion, the best representation of 2D fighting game mechanics, brought into the 3D realm. I love this series, and I am glad that more will soon be able to share in my love of Project Justice soon.
