The Art of Fabric Vessels: A Creative Exploration

I just had to start this project. It's been waiting a while and in the end I just had to let my creativity run and see what happened.
I've had the piece of silver birch bark for a few weeks. It's been sitting on my mantelpiece awaiting an idea.....
The silk shirt I thrifted on my visit to Naomi was just the right fabric to use and so I just had to dive in and get going. I picked up my needle and let it go where it wanted to whilst I tried to create a stitched and embroidered fabric vessel. At least, that is what is starting to emerge. This is part one of ...well I don't know how many parts at the moment. I'll have to wait and see.
I hope you enjoy watching as I explain my thought process and make decisions on what to do as the fabric and thread come together under my hands.
By the end of this video I have a three dimensional form which is ready for the next stage in the process.
