The Medical Training Initiative (MTI) is a new scheme akin to the former Overseas Doctors Training Scheme. MTI allows overseas doctors to undertake, under the Tier 5 sponsorship visa up to two years in a recognized training post with appropriate supervision and teaching. During which the candidate will acquire useful and appropriate skills and knowledge and then return to their countries of origin to practice in their chosen fields.
