Biodiversity Conservation and Wood Security under Global Change | Professor David Edwards

Описание к видео Biodiversity Conservation and Wood Security under Global Change | Professor David Edwards

Forests are vital for biodiversity and ecosystem service provision, yet their protection under global change is at risk.

Professor David Edwards, from the University of Cambridge's Department of Plant Sciences and Conservation Research Institute, examines the impacts of deforestation on biodiversity across spatial scales, drawing on a dataset covering nearly 10% of the world's bird species.

He also presents large-scale analyses to assess the security of critical forest resources — including timber, carbon stocks, and biodiversity — in the face of global change.

Recorded 6 November 2024.
