ALMORA - History of the capital of Kumaon

Описание к видео ALMORA - History of the capital of Kumaon

Almora is a town situated in Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, India, famous for its culture, history and cuisines. The 450-year-old city has seen a lot of stuff over the years from the rule of Chand kings, invasions by Rohillas and Gorkhas to the British Raj.
Some of these events are documented here, and it is noted here that most of the History section is adapted from the book "Kumaon Ka Itihaas" by Badri Dutt Pandey.
There are some glitches in the video which I could not shake off, so, that's that.
Enjoy!

(Edit: The map of Garhwal (Tehri Riyasat) shown at 10:34 is a little off. The border between British Garhwal and Tehri was Alaknanda River up till Rudraprayag, then Mandakini River and some ridgelines to the east of river and to the north, both were divided by high ridgelines of Kedarnath, Chaukhamba and Satpanth, basically the wall that separated glaciers of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi.)
