If there was anything you would regret in your final moments it would be not cherishing this morning as you should. Mornings were made for admiring your wife's sleeping form in your shared bed and quietly cracking open a door to reveal your girls rubbing their eyes before reaching with outstretched arms yearning to be held. Mornings were for closeness before another day of hardship, though today you were in a rush. Eager to tend to business you left with the rising sun; certain that you would be able to see them later. However, there is no later. There will never be later. Instead you are left as a broken toy in the playground of the gods. An aimless strike from the heavens enough to end it all. Weeks will pass without your family knowing your fate. Will they think you abandoned them? Or will they immediately come to the conclusion that you have met a cruel fate? It hurts to speak but it aches even more leaving words unsaid. Wishes are a childhood folly, though you still voice your wish out loud. Your voice sounds weak and scratchy as if you've swallowed tree bark, but the words come to you. A moment passes and right as you're resolving yourself to your fate you hear the faint sound of someone calling out for you.
