Does This Whisky Live Up To The Hype? Maclean's Nose Blended Scotch Whisky Review

There has been a lot of buzz and hype around this bottle of whisky for more reasons than just one. The Maclean's Nose Blended Scotch Whisky recently garnered big praise when it was named Ralfy's Whisky of the year for 2024. Back in 2023 it was my top Blended Scotch of the year, narrowly beating out the TB/BSW from Thompson Bro's. It's remarkable that this whisky has everyone talking about a Blended Scotch Whisky, rather than Single Malt. But what is most remarkable might just be the price performance to value ratio. This Blended Scotch Whisky is brought to us by the Independent Bottler Adelphi, the owners of the Ardnamurchan Distillery. Why that is important is that the majority of the whisky in this blend is malt whisky from the Ardnamurchan Distillery and you can taste the influence it has on this blend. Maclean's Nose is bottled at 46% ABV, is Non-chill filtered, has no colour added and is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks. But just how good is this whisky? Does it live up to the hype or come up short of expectations? How does it compare to the Ardnamurchan A/D Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky?
