Writing a Retelling: My Process

I recently announced that my next project is......... drumroll, please........ LAERTES! It's an adult, dark academia retelling of Hamlet set in the 1920's. I'm still in the throes of drafting, but I wanted to share my process with you, in case you're also thinking of writing a retelling of your own.
