This lecture is about quinonoid theory of acid base indicators. In Ostwald theory we have learnt that how acidic and basic indicators show different colours in their ionized and unionized forms, and this is quantitative explanation of acid-base indicators.
In Quinonoid theory we also enable to explain why indicators show different colours in different type of solutions on the basis of structural aspects. One of the major advantage of Quinonoid theory over Ostwald theory is " Quinonoid theory also gives us corridor to explain redox indicators.

Indicators show light colour in Benzenoid forms but show deep colours in their Quinonoid forms.
