Iyaloja-General and Somolu LG Boss Unveiled Olaleye Ultramodern Market

Renewed Hope Train Landed at Olaleye Market, Somolu LG, Lagos State.

The breath of a renewed hope filled the atmosphere of the Olaleye area of the Somolu local government in Lagos State after the tragic incident of an Inferno that razed down the popular Olaleye market on Saturday, 30th of May 2020.

The traders of Olaleye market lost properties and goods worth billions of Naira to the unfortunate fire incident that razed down their businesses some few years back.

The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief Dr Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, and the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu, popularly known as "Dullar," put heads together to ensure the dashed hopes of the traders who lost their wares and properties to the unfortunate incident are renewed

With every necessary support from the office of the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, the Chairman of Somolu local government was able to replace the burnt market with an ultramodern market which was built to return a lasting relief to the traders and renew their lost hopes.

The unveiling of the new Olaleye Ultramodern was done on Friday, 30th August, 2024, as Iyaloja-General was well received by the Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu, the party leaders, top political functionaries, traders, and the great people of Somolu local government.

The Chairman, in his opening remarks, thanked Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo for her support, the traders for being the bedrock of the nation's economy and he extended his appreciation to the party leaders, the Premium Heights; the developer that delivered the mandate within the stipulated time and all the top dignitaries who graced the Grand opening ceremony of the Olaleye Ultramodern market.

Before officially declaring Olaleye market open for business, the Iyaloja-General, Dr Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo thanked the Chairman for always supporting the traders across Somolu local government, the Iyaloja-General recalled that the Chairman, had empowered one thousand (1000) traders with the sum of #50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira), each taking the total empowerment sum for the first tranche to #50,000,000 (Fifty million naira), and she also thanked the Chairman for his plan to empower more traders in next couple of weeks.

Folasade Tinubu-Ojo then congratulated the traders for the new ultramodern market being handed over to them, and she charged them to make judicious use of the facilities as prescribed by the facility manager.

Finally, the Iyaloja-General urged every local government chairman across the country to emulate the kind gesture of Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu "Dullar" by empowering the electorates on whose votes they rode to power, by so doing, the dividend of democracy will get to all and sundry, "she added"

The Iyaloja-General was conducted round the facilities by the representative of Premium Heights Integrated Solutions for the final inspection of the project before the traders began to put it to use.
