Ingredients
INGREDIENTS FOR RAVA IDLI PREMIX :-
Rava/Semolina - 1 Cup
Grated Carrot - 1/4 Cup
Rai/Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
Urad Dal without skin/Black gram without skin - 1/2 Teaspoon
Chana Dal/Bengal Gram - 1/2 Teaspoon
Green Chilli - 2 finely chopped or as per taste
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece grated
Curry Leaves - few chopped
Oil - 1 Tablespoon
INGREDIENTS FOR RAVA IDLI:-
Rava Idli Premix - as required
Curd - as required to make the batter
Salt - as per taste
Baking Soda/Meetha Soda - a pinch
Butter OR Ghee/Clarified butter - as required for greasing
Fried Cashew nuts - as required for garnishing
Coriander Leaves - as required chopped
Instructions
PREPARING RAVA IDLI PREMIX:-
1.Heat oil in a pan.
2.Add mustard seeds, black gram without skin, bengal gram. Saute for few seconds.
3.Then add finely chopped green chilli and saute until the dal/lentils changes the colour to brownish.
4.Add grated ginger, chopped curry leaves. Saute for few seconds.
5.Add grated carrot and saute it on a medium flame util all the moisture evaporates.
6.Then add semolina to it. Saute until the mixture turns dry. Do not roast the semolina more (brownish).
7.Once the mixture is dry, switch off the flame. Let it cool completely. Keep the mixture an air tight container and refrigerate it.
PREPARING RAVA IDLI:-
1.Take a bowl and add rava idli premix and curd. Make thick batter.
2.Add salt and baking soda. Mix well. If the mixture seems too thick then add little water to it.
3.Grease the idli moulds with butter. Fill the moulds with the batter. Place one cashew nut on the top of idli then chopped coriander leaves.
4.Meanwhile, heat water in a steamer.
5.Put the idli mould in the steamer and steam it for 10 minutes.
6.Once the idlis are cooked, take them out. De-mould them.
7.Delicious 'Rava Idli | Instant Rawa Idli' is ready to be served.

Rava Idli | Instant Rawa Idli is a quick and easy breakfast option. This is soft and spongy idli that goes well with any type of chutney. You don’t need to soak or grind anything. You just need semolina/rava, curd some veggies and spices to prepare this idli. The good thing is you can store the premix in the refrigerator for a longer time. This is a quick and super-easy way to prepare idli. You just need to mix the ingredients and steam the idli. This is a perfect option for breakfast or tiffin snack when you do not have much time to cook. Moreover, this is very healthy as this has veggie like carrot. So, try to make it at home and let us know your feedback.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-
Make sure there is no moisture in the premix. Saute the mixture on a medium flame until it dries.
You can store the premix for 2 months in the refrigerator.
Serve this idli with Peanut Chutney | Groundnut Chutney.
