Premature deterioration of concrete structures exposed to various aggressive environmental conditions has become a worldwide problem due to its excessive cost, environmental impacts, and safety issues.
Therefore, structures need to be visually inspected and quantitatively assessed in order to plan the maintenance and repair operations (asset maintenance management).
To propose proper repair strategy and methodology (methods and materials) the condition of the structure/s must be assessed precisely.
Any structural and durability assessment of the structures must include the following activities:
-Detailed visual inspections
-Monitoring and measurements of quantitative parameters
-Data analysis
-Estimating residual service life of the structure utilising mathematical models
-Providing optimised repair and rehabilitation solutions to extend the service life of the structure.

He has published more than 25 Journal and National & International Conference Papers related to Concrete Durability Performance, Design, and Modelling. He is Managing Director of TECHNOCRETE Consulting Engineers Company, Visiting Fellow at Western Sydney University, and Honorary Fellow at the University of Technology, Sydney.
