Bird Watching in Dubai Offtrail Tale Edition I Al Qudra Lakes I Al Marmoom

Al Qudra lakes are a series of manmade lakes in the middle of Saih Al Salam desert. It is one of the six huge freshwater bodies created by the office of the engineers of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Al Qudra’s main attraction is its freshwater body covering about 10 hectares and the lake banks are covered with fruit trees and green trees that provide shade and help regulate temperature.

Al Qudra lakes are now home to a large number of migratory and resident bird's of nearly 180 species. Not just the beautiful bird's, there are plenty of freeroaming wildlife animals like Foxes, the Arabian Oryx, Arabian Gazelles, Rabbits, Owls and several desert plants.

The photographs were taken over several days and trips, I did manage to see something new every time I returned to the area. If you are an avid bird watcher or jus a casual lover of the natural world then this desert landscape will blow you away. Al Qudra is a stones throw away from the city of dubai and will take you no longer than 45 minutes from the centre of the city (bur dubai)
