How To Use the T-Seal Finishing Sheet with the DigitalHeat FX System

If you’ve been working in the t-shirt customization business then you know having finishing sheets is essential.

Like standard and flexible finishing sheets, T-Seal sheets are used for the post press. It comes in the size 11”x17” and has a rubbery silicone feel to it.

The DigitalHeat FX System comes in different models depending on what you need for your business. If you want to learn the difference between these systems, watch this video:    • DigitalHeat FX System | i560, 8432 & ...

T-Seal is designed to help lock in and mold the toner into the fibers of a shirt, giving it a more matte look. It’s also used to improve the washability and stretchability of shirts and garments.

Once you’ve completed your transfer, you simply press the T-Seal over your transfer and press!

Below, we’ve provided some instructions on how to achieve the best results when using T-Seal.

1) Before the first use, press the sheet with the rubber side down on the lower platen of your heat press with medium pressure for 20 seconds at 270° F / 132° C. This will condition the T-Seal properly.

Note: Use BELOW 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Using above 300 will degrade the life of the sheet.

2) Press and peel your transfer according to the instructions for the transfer paper you are using.

3) For the final press, use the rubbery side toward the transfer and press for 20 seconds with medium to heavy pressure.

4) Open the press and wait 5 seconds, then peel off slowly. If you peel off immediately some of your toner may stick to the T-Seal sheet.

DO NOT:
- Cut the sheet in any way. The rubber film will come off.
- Use CP Toner (toners used in older printers, if you have a newer Uninet or OKI you are good) - yellow pigments will migrate to the rubber film.
- Use with Sublimation inks or toners.

Just like the flexible finishing sheet, regular finishing sheets, and T-Gloss sheet, the T-Seal is just another way to finish your white toner transfers.
They all give your shirt a different look and feel though, so our recommendation is to have them all on deck and see what works best for you and what your customers like best.
