TEDxMSVU speaker Linda Carvery is all about embracing opportunities and being open to new possibilities. Watch her TEDxMSVU Aging Well presentation, “I believe we can fly”. Linda draws on her own personal story about staying active/learning, and her powerful voice, to encourage older adults to try new things and stay engaged. She reminds us about the negative impact of stereotyping older people, the great potential in all of us regardless age and that aging well is a very individual experience, and that’s okay. Linda Carvery is Founding President of the award-winning Nova Scotia Mass Choir. She embarked on a solo career in 2000 and has received numerous recognitions for her musical accomplishments. Linda served as the Citizenship Judge for the Atlantic Region, is on the Board of Directors of Northwoodcare (Halifax) and engaged in her family, her church and her community in many different ways. Linda received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Saint Mary’s University for her contributions to the music community and her concern for the well-being of others.
