Packing Tips and Tricks
-Pack a dress/romper/cozy clothes for after walking https://amzn.to/3GcB3vy
-Bring pajamas rather than always sleeping in walking clothes
-Have blister prevention socks that are thin https://amzn.to/3UMzXfb
-Put vaseline on your feet before you put your socks on https://amzn.to/3Xl3uOT
-Moleskin: Cut a hole in the middle of your pieces to allow your blisters to breathe https://amzn.to/3WPWcCU
-Get your shoes one size up
-You can bring hiking shoes or regular walking sneakers, lots of hokas! Make sure your shoes are comfortable
-Needle and Thread Method of popping your blisters, leave the string in your blister so it doesn't continue to refill https://amzn.to/3ieK535
-Bed bug treatment: I sprayed it on every bed I slept on and on my pack every time I arrived at a new place https://amzn.to/3FoL0pk
-Some albergues provide disposable sheets/pillowcases, but some people will bring their own https://amzn.to/3ImVxV8
-Have a converter with more than one outlet - helps when there are limited options https://amzn.to/3Yaf0h5
-Fleece hat with light https://amzn.to/3UNT602
-You can put your phone in your packs waist strap and use your phone flashlight
-I brought a sleeping sheet/mummy liner and it was all I needed. I did travel in September so the weather was not too cold, but I slept in layers when it was a chillier night https://amzn.to/3ImVxV8
-There is a lot of snoring so ear plugs are helpful https://amzn.to/3hf0l3z
-Eye masks are also nice because people are coming in and out late at night or early in the morning https://amzn.to/3YfF9ej
-Airpods/headphones were nice to have to listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks https://amzn.to/3W7B4Hc
-The app Libby connects to your local library and you can borrow books/audiobooks from your library for free https://libbyapp.com/interview/welcom...
-Helpful apps I used were CaminoTool and BuenCamino
-Using a SIM card is nice and not too expensive. 20 GB should be more than enough. It is nice to have to communicate with new friends (mostly on WhatsApp) or to navigate on the camino apps
-My water bladder made it really easy to have access to water while I was walking. I usually only put 1.5L because water is pretty accessible along the way. It helped me stay hydrated without having to worry about taking a water bottle out https://amzn.to/3Bnr2df
-Bring a light plastic water bottle to carry around with you after you are done with your walking day. It’s important to stay hydrated
-Bring a small backpack for showering with your clothes/essentials and you can use it when exploring the small cities for a warm layer/charger https://amzn.to/3FGMA7a
-Scissors would have been nice to have! Especially for my moleskin because I had to buy pre-cut blister bandaids. I don’t think you can travel with these so double check! https://amzn.to/3i9t1eR
-If you want to save money, buy your certificate case before going to the pilgrim office
