Self Havening for Anxiety: CPR for the Amygdala & the SNAP Protocol for Rapid Relief

Описание к видео Self Havening for Anxiety: CPR for the Amygdala & the SNAP Protocol for Rapid Relief

Dr. Kate Truitt begins this psychoeducation video by stating that one of the biggest difficulties of living with generalized anxiety is how diffuse and profuse it can be. It’s very different from traditional anxiety in that generalized anxiety is ever present. She explains that we can shift our havening work to better suit generalized anxiety.

Instead of utilizing CPR for the Amygdala Protocol, we can use SNAP CPR for the Amygdala Protocol, which invites the awareness that our system is carrying this energy and that’s okay. Tuning into the energy from a state of acceptance can begin to create relief and space. The goal of the SNAP Protocol is to snap Amy the amygdala out of her survival focus so that we can enter the thrive state.

SNAP stands for:

Sense
Notice
Apply
Preoccupy

Dr. Kate explains that first we must sense what is happening in our mind and body right now. Next, we notice if there’s a particular thought or energy calling for our attention, and then we rank ourself on a scale of 1 (neutral) to 10 (freak out) or -10 (numb).

Once we have that ranking in mind, we apply the havening touch, and we preoccupy our brain. We can preoccupy our brain with something as simple as counting our breath, or we utilize cognitive distractions, such as going through bands and artists from A-Z.
