President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. receives the credential letters of His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino bin Anthony, Ambassador-Designate of Malaysia to the Philippines, in a ceremony at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace on March 23, 2023.

In brief remarks, the President expresses his optimism in furthering the bilateral relations with Malaysia through the Ambassador-Designate who had traveled to the Philippines many times prior to his appointment.

“You have visited us many times, and this is the first time that you have come as Ambassador, and I look to the time that you have had to further the already very close relationship between our two countries, within our own bilateral relationships, between the multi-lateral relationships of ASEAN and all the other regional aggrupation that we have took part on,” says President Marcos Jr.

The Ambassador-Designate previously served as Malaysian Ambassador to the Republic of Italy and has been serving in the Malaysian government and the Malaysian Foreign Service for 22 years.
