Traditional Martial Arts practitioners are often too closed-minded and rigid and only practice techniques and forms but do not dare to go outside of their "style" in order to keep the tradition or "look" of their style of martial art.

Any technique that becomes too modified or loses the aesthetic look of their style, they will condemn or abandon it as something that represents their style. Yet ironically, whenever someone uses something that may resemble a technique from their style, they will go on to claim that technique as their own for argumentative purposes.

Many traditional martial artists fall into a trap and don't practice their traditional style with any aliveness, randomness, or even try to adapt to real pressure from other martial arts techniques or styles.

Traditional Kung Fu or martial arts styles love to only stay within their "traditional" realm and therefore become a mess of outdated techniques, instead of allowing it to evolve and become more simplified, direct, and effective.
