Woman jailed for 34 years for murdering and decapitating friend

A woman was jailed for a minimum of 34 years for murdering and decapitating her friend in a row over money.

Jemma Mitchell, 38, became the first woman in England and Wales to be sentenced live on television for the killing of Mee Kuen Chong, 67, also known as Deborah.

Mitchell, from Wembley, northwest London, then dumped the headless body in woodland more than 200 miles away in Salcombe, Devon, where it was discovered by holidaymakers.

Passing a life sentence at the Old Bailey in central London, The Common Serjeant of London, Judge Richard Marks KC, described her as "extremely devious".
