Steven Craig was jailed for at least 15 years - in addition to the 18 he has already served - for setting his partner on fire and causing her death 21 years later.

Craig, 58, covered Jacqueline Kirk in petrol and set her alight in a car park in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, in April 1998 in an attack inspired by an infamous scene in the Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs.

He had already served more than 18 years in prison for causing GBH but was arrested and charged with her murder after she died from complications caused by her injuries in August 2019.

Mrs Justice Stacey described the attack as "sadistic" as she jailed Craig for life following his conviction after a trial at Bristol Crown Court. She set the minimum term at 34 years but he will be eligible for release in 15 years because of the time he has already served.
