Описание к видео Ram 1500 3L HURRICANE Twin Turbo HIGH OUTPUT vs STANDARD OUTPUT Engine | Which is BETTER?

I review the 2025 Ram 1500 3L hurricane twin turbo inline-6 High Output engine from Stellantis and discuss the known differences between the Standard output Engine including Power Output, Engine specs and Performance, Engine Internals (forged vs Cast), Oil weight, Recommended Fuel octane, EGR differences, Price and much more as a heavy duty mechanic.

This is the last of the Deep dive series with the 3L hurricane engines from Stellantis and we take a close look at the High Output hurricane engine. This engine is very powerful putting down 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque which is very powerful to be in a 1500 pick up truck.

the High output engine uses almost 50% different components then the Standard output hurricane engine so there are alot of key differences. firstly is the rotation assembly, the HO uses a difference crankshaft, connecting rods and connecting rod bearings as well as using forged alluminum pistons rather then cast like the SO engine uses.

Stellantis says the forged aluminum pistons will help deal with the added pressues of the increased boost with this engine. the new pistons also drop the compression ratio to 9.5:1

This High output engine uses a completely different air intake system to allow for better flow and better cooling. this HO uses a difference larger air to water intercooler to help cool the charged air.

Up top the HO engine uses a different cylinder head, difference intake camshaft and valves. the fuelling system is also going to be different uses a dual high pressure pump vs a single pump on the standard output. the fuel pressures are going to be the same - just above 5,000 PSI but will use different injectors and and high pressure fuel lines.

The High output Hurricane Engine will also use a thicker oil, running 0w40 oil, this engine will also need to run premium 91 octaine fuel which is interesting.

lastly is the price, this HO engine is not cheap and you only get it in the Ram 1500 trucks with the Limited trim level or higher.
