“Dammit” is a song by the American rock band Blink-182, released in 1997, as the second single from their second studio album, "Dude Ranch". The song was written by bassist Mark Hoppus and is about maturity and the difficulty of seeing a former partner with someone new. Interestingly, the song was composed in just 10 minutes.

Hoppus was not in despair over a breakup when he wrote the song; instead, he was inspired while casually playing the guitar. This spontaneous creation worked in its favor, leading to the song’s raw and authentic feel.

Blink-182 was formed in Poway, California, in 1992. The band initially went by the name “Blink”, but due to legal reasons, they were forced to add the number “182” to their name. Contrary to popular belief, the number “182” in the band’s name does not hold any special meaning. It was simply added to differentiate themselves from another band with a similar name. This is a fun fact that even some of the most dedicated fans may not know.

Blink-182’s music, characterized by its unique blend of punk, pop, and rock, has resonated with fans worldwide, resulting in massive album sales and numerous accolades throughout their career.
