Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles

We’re in Canton, Ohio for an easy going Concours called the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles. This congregation of classics draws a wide variety of rare high-end collector cars in a laid back atmosphere. We start this episode out with a large luxurious sports car that we discovered at the gathering. This 1938 Horch 853 Special Roadster is one of only 5 ever made. This garish antique convertible features unique exotic materials throughout, creating an incredibly beautiful and ornate coach-built custom automobile.

Then we track down another rare custom-built 2-door, but this is the only one of its kind ever made. Commissioned by the creator of the Paxton Supercharger, the 1953 Paxton Phoenix was the product of a “dream team” of designers and builders. Just wait until you see what they came up with!

Up next is at this display of Significant Automobiles is a Ridler Award Contender that we couldn’t pass up. This 1946 Chevy Pickup has been converted into a striking Street Rod Show Truck. With its bold bodywork, beautiful interior design, and dressed-up 6.1L Hemi under the hood, there’s no wonder how is secured a spot in the Ridler Great 8!

Last but not least is an amazingly restored late ‘30s coupe that made Dennis do a double take. The 1937 Hupmobile 618G is a large and elegant Art Deco 2-Door with a Rumble Seat that we had to get a closer look at. If you’ve never heard of a Hupmobile, you need to check out this fabulous piece of automotive history.
