It would be so awesome if this was a real secret in the game, but it's just me playing around with the glowing circle at the gates that lead to the final boss (Malus). I moved the lighted parts down to the ground so Wander could jump through them - zzzzzzppppp! Wander is now in the pool at the Shrine of Worship. Because why not? ; )

But many stories could be created from this concept of a time portal. Wander could go back and watch himself enter the forbidden lands, or fight a colossus? But could he change the outcome? I don't think so. However, he couldn't save Mono as the time portal only would work in the confines of the forbidden lands.
