Where It All Started! Living 2 Months in Mexico

Описание к видео Where It All Started! Living 2 Months in Mexico

Mexico was the first country we visited when we started full time travel nearly 2 years ago. We stayed lived in 3 different areas for over 2 months.

First, we stayed in Valladolid for 1 month. Then we headed to the coastal town of Puerto Morelos. We did a few day trips to Play Del Carmen and Cancun from here. We wrapped up our time with a 1 week stay in Mexico City.

Valladolid is a picturesque colonial town in Yucatán, steeped in history and rich in culture. Founded in 1543, it features colorful streets, charming architecture, and the iconic San Servacio Church in its central square. The town is a gateway to nearby wonders like Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, and its famous cenotes, including Cenote Zací and Cenote Suytun. Designated a Pueblo Mágico, Valladolid offers authentic Yucatecan cuisine, vibrant festivals, and a blend of Mayan and Spanish influences.

Puerto Morelos, a tranquil fishing village in Quintana Roo, provides a laid-back alternative to Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Its pristine beaches and proximity to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef make it a haven for snorkeling and diving. The town is also known for its cenotes, like those along the Ruta de los Cenotes, and its focus on ecotourism, with attractions like the Crococun Zoo and mangroves. Puerto Morelos blends local charm with excellent seafood, colorful street art, and a welcoming community atmosphere.

Mexico City (CDMX), the capital, is a sprawling metropolis that blends ancient Aztec roots with modern vibrancy. Highlights include the Centro Histórico, home to landmarks like the Zócalo and Templo Mayor, and the bohemian neighborhoods of Coyoacán, Roma, and Condesa. With over 150 museums, including the National Museum of Anthropology and the Frida Kahlo Museum, CDMX is a cultural powerhouse. Culinary experiences range from street food (tacos al pastor, tlacoyos) to world-class dining at spots like Pujol. The city's lively markets, bustling nightlife, and nearby attractions like Teotihuacan ensure endless exploration opportunities.

Whether you're drawn to Valladolid's colonial charm, Puerto Morelos's serene beaches, or Mexico City's dynamic culture, each destination offers a unique slice of Mexico's rich heritage and beauty.
