Part 6 - Packets, Bags & Pandemics!
This is the sixth in a series of short local history videos, about the Latchford area of Warrington, which is located on the south bank of the River Mersey - within the town of Warrington.
The video looks at the Black Bear Bridge - on Knutsford Road and where the packet boats used to stop, on the Old Quay Canal. It also looks at the old Richard Fairclough School before moving on down Halloway and along Wash Lane, to see where the Plague House used to be. The video takes in a brief history of Christ church - Latchford and the old school rooms, followed by a quick look at Our Lady’s catholic primary school - which moved from St Mary Street in the 1970s.
