Chopin Nocturne C# Minor

This is my entry in the 2024 Steinway Australia piano competition! I wish the piano I played this piece on lived at our place! I should make it clear that I am a very amateur musician and entering the Steinway competition was about having a performance goal to strive for. I have the very good fortune to have a great friend who has allowed me to play on his beautiful model B Steinway and exhibited saintly patience in the lessons he has given me! This is the result to date!
Now why do we bother? I take heart from a wonderful quote from the famous Pablo Casals. When asked why at the age of 93 he continued to practise three hours a day he replied "I am beginning to notice some improvement". I wonder how this piece will sound next year if I heed the maestro's advice!!
