Daasarathi holds the titles Abhyudhaya Kavi and Kalaprapurna. He was also the recipient of Sahitya Academy Award for his poetic work book Thimiramtho Samaram (Fight against Darkness) in 1974. He was also chosen as Aastana Kavi of the Andhra Pradesh Government.
