CBS NFL Today 1983 Best Orig Quality

Описание к видео CBS NFL Today 1983 Best Orig Quality

Produced by Bill Feigenbaum.

This was an absolutely incredible, blow-you-away opening for 1983. Nothing like it on the air, with the very close exception of PDI's first airing in the U.S. - Entertainment Tonight. They were close in time, and I'm guessing ET may have been first. ET blew people away, too, and both were groundbreaking work.

I consider 1983 the year when the "new age" of broadcast computer graphics began in earnest, despite there being only these couple of items of note. I could be missing something important, but that is what I remember, and I was watching like a hawk!

All of this Bill Feigenbaum stuff done at NYIT with Thad Baer (I can never remember the spelling of Thad's last name) was just incredible, and it was all over CBS Sports especially.

This is hard to find on the internet. Somehow, the version I have online has enough "added production value" (the star field and background treatment) to not get nixed worldwide by copyright. I'm so glad, because this was the first of the "Feigenbaum Bombs" that raised the bar on a lot of things overnight. Remember, this was '83, it wasn't until '86 when PDI was cooking with the networks, and even then, I don't think much/any CBS Sports was involved with the PDI production. It was all Feigenbaum's looks for every important game on the network for some years there.

I will post more of Bill's incredible stuff as I can. People don't know that he was almost free to do as he wanted creating the promotion look of NBC in the sixties, using his own artwork that he animated on a physical animation stand. Unique work, and I don't know that anyone but Bill and I have the good copies of this stuff - or the best copy; it's a film transfer of all 60's NBC to darned 3/4" tape.
