Today you are flying with me on a QantasLink (a subsidiary of Qantas) Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 turboprop for a 460 km journey from Port Macquarie (population: 87,300) in New South Wales to Brisbane (population: 2.5 million) in Queensland . The plane takes off from Port Macquarie Airport Runway 21 facing southeast followed by a right turn to track northwest inland. Between Bellbrook and Millbank our bird makes a slight right turn to track northeast, passing Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Lismore, Byron Bay under its right wing. Just south of Gold Coast, it makes a slight left turn to track north. Final approach is conducted over Moretan Bay passing over Jubilee Creek just before touching down onto Runway 19 of Brisbane International Airport.
