Full Story Fort Collins: Mattie Lyle

Описание к видео Full Story Fort Collins: Mattie Lyle

In 1939, a Fort Collins Black woman, Mattie Lyle, was denied full access to the then, new State Theater on 151 North College Ave. Mattie sued the theater and won a discrimination law suit which was a rare triumph of battling racism over 85 years ago. Mattie's granddaughter, Sharon, her husband David and son Madison recently visited Fort Collins for the first time to learn about her grandmother's legacy as a civil rights advocate so many years ago. Produced in partnership with the Fort Collins' Historic Preservation Services.
