Let's dye some semi solid roving with commercial acid dyes!
Let's dye some KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Roving,100% Peruvian Highland Wool, http://shrsl.com/1f4r3 (Affiliate link) with Jacquard acid dyes.

[0:00] Introduction
[0:54] Presoaking the roving at RT in tap water for 20 min. (no acid)
[1:47] Mixing the dyepot - 12 cups of tap water + 5 tablespoons of white vinegar
Old dyestock of Jacquard Fire Red "1%" stock solution - 3/4 cup (~1.8 g of the red dye)
Jacquard Pink also a "1%" stock solution - 3/4 cup (~1.8 g of the pink dye)
(both stocks are ~1 year old)
[3:51] Adding the presoaked fiber to the pot and turning on the heat
After about 30 min total time (starting at room temperature), add 3 more tablespoons of white vinegar & turn off the heat and let cool in the pot a bit.
