Guna Devi Temple || A Trail Less Travelled || Guna Mata Mandir

Most of the tourist visiting Dharamshala come to visit Naddi for sightseeing or for the sunset view but only a few come towards the less explored village of Bal ( or Baal, as on Google Maps ). This little village offers beautiful view of the valley with many cafes located alongside a stream of water flowing right through the middle of the valley.

Only a few people know that this village also acts as a starting point of a trek that takes you to a temple nestled right in the lap of the Dhauladhars. The name of this temple is "Guna Devi Mandir" & the trek is only a couple of kms. The trek takes you through the beautiful village of Bal & through the majestic Kangra Valley towards the mighty Dhauladhar mountains. The legend behind the temple is very interesting & the temple is managed by the locals itself.
