Struggling to reach Japan's Siberian north point in winter ❄️ CAPE SOYA

I tried to reach the very northern tip of land in Japan, Cape Sōya in Hokkaido in the middle of winter. The problem is, I was feeling exhausted from walking through violent snowstorms in Wakkanai. And those same storms threatened the bus ride. Going to the Cape in a rickety city bus without snow tires, on untreated roads covered in fresh snow and ice, with profoundly cold air howling in from nearby Siberian Russia, was a daunting idea. Still – how can you get this close to one of Earth's great extreme points and not at least try? Sometimes your only choice is to push through the danger and discomfort to reach glory.
