How we gather water for the Orchard

Come along with us as we gather water from the pond to water our trees. We use a 5 gallon bucket and a sump pump to transfer water from the pond to an 330 gallon IBC tote.
I drill holes in a 5 gallon bucket to use as a filter to help keep debris from going into the sump pump.
Its a little bit of work and a long ride in the Dresser Track loader, but we get it done. Chestnut trees in the orchard require 1 inch of water per week, so if it does not rain, we have to water them.
