DIY: Yakisugi "Shou Sugi Ban" Maintenance

In this video, our General Manager Bill takes us around his house to do some maintenance to his yakisugi "shou sugi ban" fence and privacy wall. From looking at the weathering and checking on the fastening nails, to washing and finally oiling, Bill shows you ways that you can take care of your shou sugi ban.

Wood used: Japanese Cypress (Cryptomeria japanica) commonly referred to in Japanese as "Sugi" (yaki=charred, sugi=cypress)
