Описание к видео C&O 614: ACE 3000 Project sound film 1984-85

What you are about to see is my father's home movies of C&O 4-8-4 Greenbrier #614 performing in Ross Rowland's ACE 3000 project. The project was designed to see if steam power could be used in a more efficient way in modern railroading. The locomotive performed these tests under a new number 614-T (T signifying Test) and operated coal trains out of Hinton, WV. The film starts off with the ferry move from Hagerstown, MD to Hinton, WV that starts on the C&O's Mountain Sub to Clifton Forge, Va. Then are the various test runs in WV with finally the ferry move back to Hagerstown over the former C&O and Southern Railways in VA. I hope you enjoy these films and special thanks goes to my Dad for allowing me to post these priceless films to the internet. The films were shot with a Canon 514 xl-s film camera with boom microphone using Super 8 Kodachrome sound film. Please like and subscribe!! Or like us on Facebook at   / scmrailfan
